THE FINAL ASSESSMENT
Working with someone else's design is something I found difficult. Although I really did like the design, it was very difficult to do with the products instructed to use. Again to the lack of practice on my actual partner, I wasn't used to doing the design on her face so I found it difficult to make the black sections equal. I found the eyes really fun and easy to do. I like how Kate included aspects of the Elizabethan ideals such as the white base representing the pale skin, the gold eyeshadow represents the gold that Elizabethans would wear to show their wealth. The black is more of a modern aspect as the historians wouldn't have worn dark colours on their face as it was in fashion to be pale.
To create this design I started of my cleansing, toning and moisturising the face. I then primed the face using a illamasqua matte primer. Then I covered the face, ears and neck in the illamasqua White base followed by powdering the face using the illamasqua translucent powder. I then began doing the eyes, I started of by covering the whole of the lid in gold from the illamasqua liquid metals palette. Followed by doing the eyebrows. My partner asked that the eyebrows be brushed on using a mascara wand and black supracolour. Then I used the White supracolour and a clean mascara wand and brushed it on the lashes, starting from brushing them down and then up. I then started the black sections. I started by outlining where I wanted the shapes to go - I found this extremely difficult because it was hard to line the two sides up equally. But when I got them as equal as I could, I filled them in with the supracolour. The supracolour took a very long time to dry so when I got on to the shading step it kept smudging. I used a grey colour from the flawless revolution palette to create the shadows. The final step was the lips. I lined the lips using a thin zoeva makeup brush and the black supracolour. I then filled them in and lightly painted on gold from the illamasqua liquid metals palette.
